Institute of Biomedical Photonics and Sensing (IBPS) was founded in June 2007. To meet the requirement from the national needs through focusing on cutting-edge scientific advances in the field of population and health, the institute is dedicated in the development of new technologies and methods, aiming for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of major diseases and other health problem, by making integration of multi-disciplinary, such as optics, biology, medicine, etc. Current research interests include quantum regulation & sensing and instrumentation, multi-model theranostics and instrumentation, molecular mechanism of chronic diseases, molecular recognition and fluorescence sensing.
Since 2007, More than 60 scientific grants were awarded and conducted, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Major Scientific Instruments Development Project of NSFC, High-Tech R&D Program of China (863), Major Program of NSFC, Project of key International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchanges NSFC, the Key Research and Development Program of Shaanxi and provincial research projects. In the past five years, more than 120 papers were published on peer-reviewed international journals including Nature Chemistry, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Cell Reports, ACS Nano, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Chemical Science, Biomaterials, Optics Express, Optics Letters, Chemical Engineering Journal, Nano-Micro Letters, Nature Communications, Bioactive materials, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Journal of Materials Chemistry C, Journal of Physical Chemistry C, etc.
