Bioinspired Engineering and Biomechanics Center of Xi’an Jiaotong University (BEBC) is a multidisciplinary research center built upon the academic idea of "Basic Theory of Mechanics - Biotechnology R&D - Application and Promotion", with the goal of scientific research and industrial translation.

BEBC has long been committed to solving clinical biomedical problems from the perspective of mechanics and engineering. Through understanding and exploring the mechanical behavior and environment of human tissues/cells, we integrate mechanics with engineering, materials, chemical biomedicine and other fields. Aiming at the common scientific problems and technical challenges in the multi-scale and multi-physics coupling behavior of the human body, we carry out the basic and applied research following the route of "Clinical Problems (BED) - Laboratory Research (BENCH) - Clinical Applications (BED)". We are specifically interested in multi-scale biothermal-mechanical-electric coupling problems from tissue, cellular to molecular scales to provide effective theoretical guidance and technical solutions for the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of major diseases.
