Biomedical Informatics & Genomics Center (BIGC) is a multidisciplinary science and innovation platform. BIGC is oriented to the national strategy need of precision medicine and international frontier research development. We mainly focus on developing biomedical data analysis tools, artificial intelligence and multi-omics methods, as well as high-throughput gene editing techniques, by integrating biomedical big data, including genomics, transtriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, metabolomics and phenomics, and incorporating multidisciplinary approaches, such as molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, and mathematics and statistics. BIGC aims to identify risk factors on human complex diseases, dissect the underlying pathogenesis, and build disease risk prediction/diagnosis model. Our research could provide new insights into the diseases prevention and screening as well as precision medicine, and provide new potential drug targets for diseases.

There are 4 professors, 3 associate professors and 6 assistant professors in BIGC. So far, BIGC has published more than 100 SCI papers in reputed journals such as Nature, Nature Genetics, Nature Reviews Endocrinology, American Journal of Human Genetics, Genome Medicine, Microbiome etc. Our articles have been cited more than 2000 times, including three ESI Highly Cited Papers, one ESI Hot Papers, and one "China's 100 Most Influential International Academic Papers". More than 60 scientific research projects have been approved, including more than 20 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and more than 20 provincial funds, with the amount of scientific research funds exceeding 10 million yuan. BIGC also published 6 monographs, 6 authorized invention patents, and 2 software copyrights. The center cooperates with research teams from UCLA, Tulane University, University of Chicago, Cambridge University and other world-famous universities.
